How to Remove a Paypal Account From Xbox Live
If you have a Gold membership that is still active that has been purchased with that PayPal account, then you cannot remove it unless you cancel the subscription or your Gold runs out.

when you purchase a promotion or dashboard deal you can select use other payment options but you will have to add the payment option
its faster if you add the creditcard info here on the website since its is easier to type on the computer
then when selecting your plan click use other payment options

Here is what you do.
1. Turn your 360 on
2. Push the center Xbox Button
3. Scroll over to "Settings"
4. Go to "Account Management"
5. Go to "Manage Payment Options"
6. Then Go To "Remove Payment Option"
7. Select the unwanted cards you want to remove.
If you cannot remove the old payment option by the way I listed above you have to either add an new payment option. Then select the new payment option to be your default payment option. Then you are allowed to delete the old Pay Pal account if this does not first work.

This may mean that it either has a past due amount that needs to be paid or you have it attached to an active membership. You can check if you have any past due on at http://billing.microsoft.com. Once any past due is paid or memberships are canceled or over then it can be removed if there are no past dues on the payment methods.

So much of this information is untrue. The bottom line is that it can not be removed by YOU because it is linked to an active account but it can be removed. To do so all you have to do is call customer support and they will take it off for you. It really don't have anything to do with past due payments. If he owed them money they would charge the card. If the card was know good (expired) or no more credit is left on it then it would become a billing issue and he would get one of the billing error codes.

what does this mean?
Payment methods with an outstanding balance cannot be removed. Please resolve any outstanding balances before removing this payment method.
The credit card which i used to pay my xbox live was canceled, cuz I got a new Credit card and now it wont let me reedem any code and remove my credit card information :/

Hi Itachifan15. It looks like you need to add another card to transfer the balance onto. This can be done at commerce.microsoft.com. If you have any issues getting it updated, please start a fresh thread, and we'll be happy to take a look for you!
